Our Work

Project Description : Coal to Olefins
Capacity : 2 million tons per year
Project Cost : Approximately 8 billion usd

The project broadly consists of Coal Gasification Unit, Methanol synthesis for 18000 tons of methanol feed per day and Methanol to Olefins for 2 millions tons of Olefins along with associated facilities, including coal based captive power plant. The project will have an output of 2 million tons of Olefins i.e. 900000 tons of Ethylene. 900000 tons of Propylene and 200000 of butadiene using coal as feedstock. The total estimated cost for setting up Coal to Olefins Complex at the existing plant site is approx. 8 billion usd. which we have received 100 % funding.. The unit will utilize about 10 MMTPA coal from our own coal mines in Montana..

ggChem is using Coal Gasification for production of Methanol. Further, ash is converted to inert slag which is essentially non – hazardous and used in making roads.
Coal preparation Coal is milled to fine particles and dried to improve conversion efficiency before being fed into the gasifier.
Air Separation
The air separation unit separates oxygen from air to help combustion in the gasifier.

Methanol Synthesis Unit
The methanol synthesis unit converts the synthesis gas to Methanol

Methanol to Olefins
The methanol to olefins uses the methanol to make olefins i.e. Propylene, Ethylene and butadiene
